Zazam is a free social networking exchange where friends, people of common interests and locals can easily connect to barter products, property, skills and services
Yes, Zazam is completely free to list items for sale or trade. The site is supported by unobtrusive targeted text ads by Google Adsense.
You start by going through the quick registration process. Once your account is ready it's up to you! In 70 characters or less tell the community what you have to offer or what you want. Followers and other site users then contact you to make offers for purchase or trade.
Currently we are developing an iPhone, Droid, and BlackBerry application to make the site easy to use from mobile devices. Anyone with web access on their phone can use the site just as you would surf the web at home or work.
No, for security reasons Zazam does not allow html in your messages. You can include one link in your profile to give people access to more information about you, and after someone contacts you regarding a zazam, you can communicate via the online messaging system or email to provide more information.
By searching people in the system or visiting a users profile page you can "Follow" similar to other social networking sites. People you decide to follow get notified but that doesn't mean you have to see their information. People that add you as followers on their list will appear in your following list and it's up to you if you want to reciprocate. You have the option to block anyone that you are not interested in transacting with or seeing updates on.
Go to your settings and click on Notifications to change the users you wish to get notified from. Go to settings and Display to adjust the zazams you wish to appear on your home page. Making adjustments in your settings will give you the most personalized experience.
Absolutely, go to this user's profile page, or the list of your followers, and click the unfollow icon (the unfollow icon is the two orange people with a minus sign). You can always add a user back if you decide their zazams are worthy of your browsing in the future.
When you are logged in go to your "My Home" page and click on the link Followers to see your list. You will see all the users who are following you. You have the option to also begin following them or you can block them.
Yes! We hate SPAM and want to know if someone is spamming. If you just want to block someone because your not interested in them you can do that by simply selecting block user. If you think the person is taking advantage of the system with inappropriate messages or SPAM please click on the Flag icon to report them. We do our best to try and remove these users. Although we do our best to track SPAMMERS and inappropriate messages, there will be times beyond our control that we can prevent this. Part of the great thing about Zazam is that we make posts instant and from time to time there are people that we have not control over which make unfortunate posts. We apologize in advance on behalf of these peoples ignorance, incompetence, and lack of value for time.
Yes, in their profile page and on people searches, click on the utility icon with two black bolts and select "Propose a Direct Zazam" or "Ask a Question." Proposing a direct zazam will allow you to may a direct off to the user. This is often helpful when you see they have a skillset and you think you have something in return to exchange. Ask a question just brings you up a standard text form for you to send a message to the user.
Go to your "My Home" page. Click on "messages" below the Zazam Activity title. This will show you messages you've received. To see the messages sent by you, click "Outbox" next to where it says "Direct Messages" in the middle of the page
Go to Settings and click on Notifications. You can adjust your email notification settings here to make sure you only receive messages from people you want.

By default, everyone can see your zazams in the results and any registered user can contact you. However, you can decide who can and can not communicate with you by adjusting your settings. Go to Settings and click on Display to adjust who can respond to your zazams. By default, all zazam posts are available for anyone to respond as this is the desire by the majority of our users.
